以下每一条都对应一次真实的对话。中文为家长与学员原话（仅隐去姓名），英文为忠实翻译——我们主张「地道、实用、有母语内涵」，所以自己的译文也按这个标准写。

他每次只讲有限的内容，不让人信息过载，但每一个小知识点都会展开到实用、贴切的细节。比如聊到气候，他会教我们各种气候怎么表达，再让我们描述自己家乡的气候。
He deliberately limits how much he gives you at once — you are never overwhelmed — and then opens up each small point with practical, real-world detail. When we talked about climate, he taught us how to describe different climate types and had us describe our own hometowns: “It has a … climate.” Simple, and it stuck.

他教我的，不只是英语。
在冲击波英语实习期间，创始人 Sim 给了我极大的支持。他既是我英语学习的导师，也是我人生志向的导师——他教我从英语国家学来地道的口语表达和语法。
他还和我分享了他的愿景：让所有中国人都能掌握流利、地道的英语。这件事极大地激励了我，也让我更坚定要把英语学好。
三个多月下来，我学到了很多：学业上，我认真钻研英语，遇到困难就向 Sim 和其他导师请教；专业上，我仔细备课，思考如何在线上教学平台上提升学生的参与度，最终得到了导师和学生的肯定。
During my internship at Impact English, the founder, Sim, gave me enormous support. He mentored me not only in English but in what I wanted to do with my life — teaching me the authentic spoken expressions and grammar you only really pick up from living in an English-speaking country.
He also shared his vision with me: that every Chinese learner could one day speak fluent, natural English. It inspired me, and it made me far more determined to master the language myself.
Over those three months I gained a great deal: I studied hard and went to Sim and the other mentors whenever I got stuck; I prepared my lessons carefully and thought hard about how to keep students engaged on a virtual platform. In the end both my mentor and my students praised the work — which meant a lot.

In my mind, Impact English has always been a real wave of impact: a force launched outward, hitting whatever stands in its way, then radiating its strength in every direction.
Having taken part in Impact English’s teaching process, I came to understand what it stands for: authentic, practical, thinking-based English with native depth. “Authentic” and “practical” are about results — a foreign language has to actually be usable. “Thinking-based” and “native depth” are about how far it goes — it should never stop at passing exams.

这股「冲击波」不寻常。
2003 年 8 月 24 日，星期日。《湛江晚报》头版头条刊出《这股「冲击波」不寻常——访湛江籍留新学生杨斯毅》。那时他 22 岁，怀卡托大学管理学系二年级，出国前一周写完了 120 页的《冲击波英语》。书没有正式出版，复印本却在港城英语爱好者手里传成了「掌中宝」。

需求分析、量体裁衣、熟能生巧、有问必答
2017 年，受邀到湛江老年干部大学讲授基础口语。针对老年学员「要实用、要精简、要记忆策略」的特点，我选用中英互译的旅行类基础英语材料，课本配大量彩图与单词、句型详解。课上专注训练发音与双人对话，难点反复替换练习，再留一个问答环节让学员把「惑」解决干净。有说有练、有想有论，受到了老干们的喜爱和认可。
以合适的自制影片满足学习者的语言文化需求
青少年大多爱看动画、趣味故事和历险记，初级阶段的学习者又正好集中在这个年龄段。怎么抓住他们最初的学习兴趣、让学习动机真正立起来，是个重要课题。为此我自制了大量简易版的社会实拍影片与学员分享，让他们对英语和英语文化先发生兴趣。
